COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 27,1997 PSA#1791DOC; Mountain Administrative Support Center; Acquisition Management
Division; 325 Broadway MC3; Boulder, CO 66 -- RESISTIVE THERMISTOR DC SUBSTITUTION DETECTORS SOL
NB813-703323DT POC Doris Turner, Purchasing Agent, (303) 497-3872 or
FAX (303) 497-3163 E-MAIL: NOAA; MASC Acquisition Management,
Joyce.J.Mills@noaa.gov. The National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST) is seeking to purchase eight RF detectors with a
range of operation to 50 GHz and have Male 2.4 mm coaxial connectors.
Because of linearity considerations, these devices must be resistive DC
substitution power detectors, functionally equivalent to the thermistor
mounts used in NIST's other dual six-port systems. The six-port systems
use resistive Thermistor DC substitution detectors as their method of
detecting RF power. Thermo-electric or diode sensors are not
acceptable. Delivery of these detectors is required by May 9, 1997 and
the government reserves the right to cancel the order if delivery
cannot be met. It is not the intent of the Government to issue a
separate solicitation for this requirement. Interested sources
proposing to supply equivalent items must submit a written
qualification statement by fax, clearly establishing capability to meet
the above requirements within 15 days from the date of this synopsis.
In the absence of other qualified sources, it is the intent of the
Government to negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of
41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with Hewlett Packard, 3005 Center Green Drive,
Suite 205, Boulder, Co 80301 as this source is considered to be the
only source for the items which will satisfy agency requirements.
