A -- PREPROPOSAL CONFERENCE FOR FY 98 ADVANCED CONCEPTS AND TECHNOLOGIES (ACT II) PROGRAM BROAD AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT IN SUPPORT OF THE U.S. ARMY TRAINING AND DOCTRINE COMMAND (TRADOC) BATTLE LABS SOL DAAG55-97-R-BAA1 POC Contracting Officer, Anna G. McLaughlin, (919) 549-4301. P -- Preproposal Conference Announcement, Monday and Tuesday, 14-15 April 1997. Headquarters, Training and Doctrine Command and the Army Materiel Command will be hosting an Advanced Concepts and Technology II (ACT II) Fiscal year 1998 Pre-Proposal Conference (PPC) on 14-15 April 1997 at the Omni Newport News Hotel in Newport News, Virginia. The ACT II program encourages application of commercial technologies which are mature or nearing maturity to address immediate Army concerns. This access to the commercial market is intended to shorten the acquisition cycle and reduce the development cost. The ACT II program will offer industry relief from the costly and time-consuming burden of proposal preparation by inviting submissions of brief two-page concept papers that detail innovative technology demonstrations. The registration pamphlet for the conference is currently available at the following TRADOC Internet address: "HTTP://battlelabs.monroe.army.mil" The PPC ACT II pamphlet and registration form canalso be requested by electronic mail addressed to: "Byrumj@emh6.monroe.army.mil" or by fax to (757) 727-3445. The registration must be received at the address indicated in the pamphlet no later than 14 March 1997. You must be registered in order to attend the conference which is limited to the first 500 respondents. The Omni Newport News Hotel has reserved a block of rooms at a special rate of $82.72, plus tax, however, space is limited. Release of the Draft BAA is anticipated on or about 3 March 1997 and will be made available on the Battlelab's web page at the TRADOC address above. No other announcement will precede this release.
