A -- AHS HUMAN EXPOSURE SURVEY POC Vickie Presnell, Contracting Officer, (919) 541-3416 Public Meeting Notice. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) is planning to procure the services of a contractor to perform a field survey of the exposure to pesticides of approximately 250 registered pesticide applicators and their families in the states of North Carolina and Iowa. This survey will be part of the Agricultural Health Study (AHS), a joint Agency project between USEPA, the National Cancer Institute, and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. A competitive request for proposals (RFP) is planned for issuance later this year. A public meeting will be held from 8:15 a.m. February 27 through noon February 28, 1997, at the Bethesda Marriot Hotel, 5151 Pooks Hill Rd, Bethesda, MD 20582. Discussions will focus on the AHS and some proposed general conceptual elements of the exposure survey design, which has already been pilot tested. A period for public comment is on the agenda; however, specific questions about any details of the RFP will not be entertained. An RFP is not yet available and requests for the RFP will not be accepted at this time. Another synopsis will be published prior to the issuance of the RFP. (0051)
