Long, Contract Specialist, 202/435-6940, FAX202/435- 7138 The U.S. Secret Service has a requirement to purchase current full production submachine guns that meet the following specifications: (a) size: length of no more than 21 inches with rearward retractable/telescopic stock retracted and a length of no more than 26 inches with the reaward retractable/telescopic stock extended; (b) weight: no more than 07.5 pounds without magazine; (c) chambered for 9mm Luger cartridge and capable of semi-automatic and fully automatic fire; (d) barrel and chamber specifications conforming to Sporting Arms Ammunition Manufacturers Institute (SAAMI) specifications; and (e) shoulder mounted, magazine-fed with a telescoping or folding buttstock. The submachine guns shall be supplied with 4 magazines having a minimum capacity of 30 rounds and a maximum of 40 rounds. The trigger group shall be "safe," "semi-automatic," and "fully automatic." The 9mm submachine guns must be available for purchase in large quantities and delivery to Beltsville, Maryland or as ordered. The resultantcontract is expected to be a requirements for a period of performance not to exceed sixty months. Delivery schedule shall be within 90 days of issuance of an order under the awarded contract. Release of the solicitation is anticipated to be within approximately 30 days of this notice. Proposals are expected to be due within 45 days of issuance. All responsible sources may submit a proposal for consideration. Requests to be on the bidders list must be received in writing or facsimile 15 days from publication this notice. Companies which have already submitted requests for the solicitation need not re-submit a request. Companies are advised to verify that the request has been received by the Government.
