This annual conference, with the cooperation of the Department of Defense (Health Affairs), is being held to encourage communication among medical, industrial and academic communities. The theme, "Medical Technologies & Programs: A Forecast for the Future" focuses on what are the opportunities or impediments to enhancing health care in the 21st Century. The conference objectives are: (1) To understand medical requirements, program objectives and funding initiatives at the federal, state and local level as well as the challenge to technology developers; (2) Hear challenges, highlights and lessons learned from telemedicine initiatives; (3) Present available technologies which support the medical community as well as identify other technologies which meet medical objectives and requirements; (4) Discuss medical standards -- Who is responsible?
