Contracting Officer, (504) 862-2888 The Army corps of Engineers, New
Orleans, has a requirement for design, fabrication and construction of
a pre-engineered clear span bridge of steel construction. The bridge
shall consist of an east bridge section, west bridge section and an
apron. The bridge will be manufactured in accordance with AASHTO
standards. When fully assembled, it will conform to the dimensions
shown on the drawings and be capable of being erected on and secured to
the existing Government concrete foundation and Government designed
support beam at anchorage locations shown on the drawings. The apron
shall be designed to function as a vehicular and pedestrian ramp
between the west bridge section deck and the Government barge deck,
with a 12'-0" roadway. The Contractor will provide shop drawings
showing the complete bridge construction and be signed by a registered
professional Engineer. Delivery will be to the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers, District Reservation, New Orleans, Louisiana. A 24-hour
advance notice will be given prior to delivery of the bridge and a
minimum of 30 days prior to bridge delivery, the lower half of the
hinge bearing shall be delivered to permit its installation by the
Government on the foundation. The Contractor will provide on-site
services of a manufacturer's representative for two 8-hour days to
instruct Government personnel in the proper unloading, lifting,
assembly, splicing, bolting, erection and placement of the bridge. The
Government will provide the crane, manpower and tools required.
