16 -- PROCUREMENT OF 39 ASM UNITS FOR P-3C POC Contact, Kenneth Finley, Phone (703)604-2000 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to procure 39 Auxiliary Switching Matrix (ASM) units for P-3C aircraft from Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Company (LASC). The aSM was designed in conjunction with the P-3C Communications Improvement Program (CIP) and is a common box also required for the GPS program. LASC is the only known source capable of providing this unit for P-3C GPS installation requirement. The government has only limited data rights for this radio and it is not cost effective to procure unlimited rights in data and a technical data package with which to compete this effort. The Administrative Contracting Officer will conduct negotiations with LASC, Marietta, Georgia for this effort. NAVAIR Synopsis No. 30049-97. (0049)
