23RD ENVIRONMENTAL SYMPOSIUM AND EXHIBITION 23rd Environmental Symposium and Exhibition, New Orleans, Louisiana, April 7-11, 1997. The 1997 Symposium will focus on the climate of change in the Defense Department's environmental programs and the economic implication of these changes. The central theme " Fostering National and International Partnerships for Environmental Security" focuses on DoD's new initiative's and thrust areas to bring together national and international leadership to address those issues of common concern and relates to partnerships that help sustain military readiness while maintaining and enhancing sound environmental postures. Essential key elements in these postures will be presented in three senior panels during the symposium- 1.) DoD Environmental Partnerships with State, Tribal Nations, and Citizens, 2.) International Defense Environmental Cooperation and 3.) Integrating Environment, Safety and Occupational Health (ESOH) into the Acquisition Process. In addition, "Environmental Support of the Military Missions" will behighlighted by a panel of Military Executives who will present their respective environmental programs, to include anticipated allocation of 1997 environmental budget and future projected funding levels. Upon conclusion of the plenary session and panels the symposium offers 30 concurrent sessions which includes 180 technical papers. Over 250 exhibits from government and industry will be on display. Add-ons to the symposium will be workshop on "US Army Environmental Programs (Open to US Government personnel only) and a DoD Conservation Workshop open to industry and government.
