56 -- DEMOLITION AND SITE ABATEMENT SERVICES SOL 970206 DUE 031497 POC Korte Construction Co., (618) 654-8611 Qualified firms are invited to submit a sealed bid to the Madison County Transit District (District) to provide Phase 1: Demolition and Site Abatement Services for the Edwardsville Transit Center Project. This Invitation for Bids (IFB) should not be construed as a commitment of any kind on the part of District nor does it commit District to pay for any costs incurred in the submission of a bid, nor for any costs incurred prior to the execution of a formal agreement. The agreement to be entered into pursuant to this IFB is subject to financial assistance contracts between District and the U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT), and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). If for any reason the Federal assistance is withdrawn, then District may withdraw this IFB and/or terminate any agreement entered into subsequent to this solicitation. District has established a goal of 12.18% for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation in this contract. Any bidder selected must certify compliance with Federal and State of Illinois DBE regulations, and show evidence of good faith in assisting District to obtain its DBE participation goal. The selected bidder will be required to comply with all applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations. A pre-bid conference will be held at District offices on Tuesday, February 18, 1997, beginning at 10:00 a.m., for the purpose of responding to questions or clarification regarding the contents of the IFB. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid conference as it will be the sole opportunity to ask questions concerning this solicitation. Bid Packets containing project drawings, specifications, bid instructions, conditions and forms may be obtained by contacting the office of the Construction Manager at the address below.
