76 -- BOOKS, MAPS, AND OTHER PUBLICATIONS SOL NHLBI-RR-P-97-102 DUE 032797 POC Zetherine Gore, Contract Specialist, Tel: (301)435-0365; FAX:(301)480-3345 The National Institutes of Health, National Center for Research Resources seeks a contractor to provide personnel, facilities, equipment and supplies for the placement of new and renewal subscriptions to domestic and foreign serials and periodicals in printed and/or electronic format, and for related services and reports. The contractor may also provide the service through an electronic mechanism, Web, or Internet alternative which accomplishes the desired result. It is anticipated that new or renewa l orders will be placed annually for approximately 2,500 unique serial titles covering scientific, technical, medical and business subjects. It is desired that the electronic commerce shall include functions such as electronic funds transfer, electronic data interchanged for journal ordering, renewal, claiming and claim responses; e-mail or fax communication to vendor/or publisher; and Internet or Web access to current online databases or serial titles and publisher names and addresses. The applicable Sta ndard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 5192. It is estimated that the contract period shall be approximately one(1) year with four(4) one year options. It is anticipated that the Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued on or about February 27, 1997 and proposals will be due 30 days thereafter. To obtain a copy of the RFP, all interested parties should submit a written request to the POC referenced herein.
