The US Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting proposals for the FY97 OMA Interior Renovation of Mahan Hall, USMA, West Point, NY. The project will completely upgrade Mahan Hall, Bldg. 752, to ensure that this facility meets all current fire, life safety, electrical, plumbing, sanitary and handicapped accessibility codes. Mahan Hall is an 8 story academic building consisting of classrooms, laboratories, an auditorium and offices. The facility will remain open and operating during construction thus, a careful phasing plan must be devised, each complete phase being an independent functional unit. The scope of the work includes, but is not limited to, a complete upgrade of all major utility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, architectural fire detection and suppression and telecommunications. HVAC system replacement is the major portion of contract. Demolition will include asbestos, PCB and lead paint removal. Magnitude of construction is $10-25 Million. This is a TWO STEP PROCUREMENT in accordance with FAR Part 14.5. Solicitation documents for STEP ONE will be available on or about February 20, 1997. Technical proposals are due thirty (30) days from issuance, on or about April 1, 1997. Only those firms submitting acceptable technical proposals in Step 1 may participate in Step 2. Step 1 will include, but is not limited to, technical proposals to accomplish complete upgrade of major utility systems, hazardous material removal and disposal and phasing plan.
