The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to make a contract award for the construction of an addition to the existing warehouse located at the Federal Correctional Complex, Butner, North Carolina, in accordance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications. The requirements under this solicitation shall include the contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and expertise to construct and fabricate a 12,180 square foot addition to the existing Federal Correctional Complex, Butner, North Carolina warehouse, with an additional 50 ft x 50 ft insulated freezer pad. This building shall be connected into the existing electrical, telephone, water, sewer, and other utilities. This building has been designed to comply with North Carolina State Building Codes, NFPA Codes, Uniform Federal Accessability Standards (UFAS), and other applicable codes, as well the Seismic Safety Requirements. The successful bidding contractor shall be required to attend regularly scheduled progress meetings, and in addition prepare all required submittals and shop drawings for the Federal Bureau of Prisons approval prior to construction. The project magnitude for this project is within the estimated price range of $100,000 and $500,000. The issue date of the Invitation for Bid is March 4, 1997, with a Bid Opening date of April 4, 1997. A Pre-Bid Conference will be scheduled for March 13, 1997. Contractors requesting solicitation packages shall be submitted in writing to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Mid-Atlantic Regional Contracting Office, 3600 Spurr Road, Quarters #14, Lexington, Kentucky 40511, Attn: Peter Van Steyn, Regional Contract Specialist. A non-refundable deposit in the amount of $125 is required for each solicitation package request. All deposits shall be made payable to Middleton, McMillian Architects.
