Patricia Haun, Contracting Officer, 301-496-8613 The National Cancer
Institute (NCI) Radiation Oncology Branch (ROB) is developing new
methology for the treatment of cancer. This includes new treatment
strategies and new treatment techniues to enhance the survival and
minimize complications of patients receiving radiation therapy as part
of their cancer treatment. The ability to view the 3-dimensional
effect of complex treatment plans prior to actual patient treatment is
of paramount importance. As part of its research effort, ROB has been
developing a highly sophisticated radiation treatment planning system.
This system permits true 3-dimensional visualization of the treatment
volume and of isodose distributions. It includes a number of advances
tools for the mergining of diagnostic information obtained from
different imaging modalities, the ability to custom design irregular
fields for both stationary beams and arcs, and the ability to display
differential isodose distributions and dose-volume histograms. The Wyze
Development, 12806 Littleton Street, Silver Spring, MD 20960 is to
provide the service due to the expertise and experience with the
planning system, which currently containss over 2 million lines of
source codes. Wyze Development currently employse programmers with over
3600 hours of experience in the development and design of the system.
No other source, regardless of overall programming experience, can gain
the necessary expertise with our system in order to permit us to
complete development in the time frame of 1 year. This is not a formal
solicitation. However, concerns that respond to this notice must
furnish concise responses directed specifically to the requirements
mentioned above. Sources demonstrating the capability to accomplish the
above shall supply pertinenet information in sufficient detail to
demonstrate that ability to perform. Information furnished shall
include enough material to perform a proper evaluation. Respondents
will not be notified of the evaluation results. Information must be
recieved within 20 days of the publication of this notice. See Note 22.
