767-3739. The requirement previously synopsized on 24 January 1997 is
hereby corrected to read: The Naval Research Laboratory has a
requirement for engineering and technical support for laser an
electro-optical technology. The scope of the work includes (1) system
conceptual design and planning of technical-development programs for
systems involving electro-optics and/or lasers, (2) hardware and
software engineering design, development and testing, (3) planning and
execution of field testing and trials involving lasers and
electro-optic systems operating alone and in conjunction with other
conventional military systems, such as radar, guns and/or missiles, (4)
analysis of improvements to conventional weapons systems by adding and
electro-optic component or augmenting electo-optic sub-systems already
in place, and other related efforts required under the Naval Research
Laboratorys laser and electro-optic programs. The statement of work
will be included with the solicitation. Offerors must have demonstrated
experience and demonstrated ability to provide qualified personnel in
performing the specified tasks. Prior to contract award, a contractor
must have a Secret facility clearance, and personnel available with DoD
granted personnel security clearances commensurate with level of access
required for performance of the contract. The majority of tasks will be
performed at the contractors facility. The Government anticipates award
of an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) cost reimbursable
contract with a five year total contract life. This requirement is
set-aside 100% for small business concerns. The Standard Industrial
Code is 8731. The solicitation will close 30 days after the
