Contract Specialist, 202/874-3145. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing
(BEP) is seeking sources to supply coil packaging tray film used in the
processing of Postage Stamps in accordance with BEP Specification
F:CPT-3 dated September 18, 1996. The film shall be suitable for use on
the BEP's automatic coiling and packaging equipment. The film shall
unwind, thermoform, seal, cut, and slit-perforate easily, cleanly and
uniformly on the BEP's equipment. The film shall have a thickness of
0.369-0.451 (0.015-0.0178 inches) +/- 0.020 mm (0.0008 inches). The
film, after thermoforming into trays, shall seal to lidding film as
described in Specification F:CPL-2 dated December 12, 1996. The seal
shall be such that any attempt to remove the lidding film from the tray
shall result in a visible, permanent indication that removal has
occured or has been attempted. The film shall be wound on fiber cores
furnished by the contractor in accordance with BEP specifications and
delivered in rolls. A draft specification will be issued to all
interested sources for comment as well as for information purposes. The
Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this
specification, or otherwise pay for the information solicited. All
interested sources should request a copy of the draft specification
within fifteen (15) days after publication of this notice. Comments on
the draft specification and information requested should be submitted
to the BEP no later than February 28, 1997. Requests should be
