This is a T-8 and electronic ballast retro fit project for existing fluorescent light fixtures located in the Federal Build ing and U.S. Post Office in Iowa City, Iowa. Additionally, about 220 of the exi sting fluorescent light fixtures will be replaced with new 250W High Pressure So dium fixtures. BASE BID: Federal Building & U.S. Post Office in Iowa City, Iowa . OPTION NO. 1: U.S. Post Office & Federal Building in West Branch, Iowa. OPTI ON NO. 2: Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Retrofit w ill involve properly disposing of mercury containing T12 lamps and disposing of PCB contaminated ballasts at an EPA approved facility by incineration. Any cont ractor or subcontractor performing PCB removal work shall satisfy special respon sibility and shall provide bodily injury liability insurance coverage written on the comprehensive form of the policy of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence. Su ch coverage must encompass liablities arising from work with PCBs involved. The Government will not indemnify against such risks.
