(MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS) PREPARATION (MINISTRY OF LABOUR NOTICE
NO. 96-58). The following notification is being circulated in
accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.11. 1. Member to Agreement
notifying: REPUBLIC OF KOREA. If applicable, name of local government
involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Ministry of
Labour. Agency or authority designated to handle comments regarding the
notification can be indicated if different from above. 3. Notified
under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable,
otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in
addition, where applicable): Chemicals. 5. Title, number of pages and
language(s) of the notified document: Proposed Amendment to the
Standard for MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) Preparation (Ministry
of Labour Notice No. 96-58). 6. Description of content: The background
colour of hazardous symbols shall be yellow or orange; labels by IMDG
(International Maritime Dangerous Goods) Code or DGR (Dangerous Goods
Regulation in IATA) shall be considered consistent with the
requirements by the Standard until the end of 1997. 7. Objective and
rationale: To protect the health and safety of workers. 8. Relevant
documents: Industrial Safety and Health Act. Office Gazette published
by the Korean Government (4 January 1997). 9. Proposed date of
adoption: 1 March 1997; Proposed date of entry into force: 1 March
