Postal facility which incorporates steel structure, brick and EIFS
exterior; modified bitumen roof; postal retail store in lobby area;
workroom with support areas on interior, as well as mail and carrier
platform on exterior. The site is located on the corner of Coley Drive
and Wallace Knob Road in Mountain Home. Estimated cost range
$2,600,000.00-$2,750,000.00 and construction time is 300 calendar days.
Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and
Minority-Owned, and Woman-Owned Business initially and thereafter with
their progress payment requests. The contractor must subcontract with
minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% of
the total value of its subcontracts. A 20% proposal bond is required on
all proposals. The successful contractor will be required to provide
100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds. Offers will be received in this
office prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on February 24, 1997.
Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available on
January 22, 1997 at a cost of $130.00 per set (NON-REFUNDABLE) payable
by check or money order only. Requests for packages shall be forwarded
to Cornerstone/Haynes Architects, 10301 Rodney Parham, Suite A6, Little
Rock, AR 72227-4838, Telephone: (501) 225-6397. Checks or money orders
must be made payable to CORNERSTONE/HAYNES ARCHITECTS. Since this is
a request for proposals, offers will not be publicly opened. The number
of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any one
offer, or relative standing of offeror will not be disclosed to anyone
until after award of a contract is made and the request is submitted
in writing. Plans may be inspected at the issuing office and any
questions and/or information regarding this solicitation may be

encouraged to submit their proposal by one of the methods offered by
the U.S. Postal Service (First Class, Priority Mail, orExpress Mail).
