Six sets to be installed on west wall of gymnasium and four on east wall. Each unit has six rows of seats and is five feet, nine inches tall (5.9"); fifteen feet, ten and three quarter inches long (15'10-3/4"). IMPORTANT: The bleachers must not extend more than ten feet, three inches (10.3") from the wall to the the basketball court. Bleachers will roll out onto the hardwood floor; wheels must be non-marring type. There is a thirteen inch (13") panel running along the length of the bottom seat. This panel folds up and has built-in handles for closing and extending the bleachers. It is also used for cleaning under the bleachers when they are in closed position. There is another thirteen inch (13") panel running underneath the top row of seats. It folds up to prevent basketballs etc. from lodging between the seats when the bleachers are closed. Bleachers will be mounted on cinderblock walls and when closed will be resting on a concrete surface. When closed, the bleachers extend three feet, one inch from the wall. There is a four and a half inch (4 1/2") wood strip between the top row of seats and the wall to prevent objects from falling behind the bleachers. The gymnasium is a high humidity area so the metal rails and frames require the maximum amount of rust protection. Seats should be red backs, blue seats, 12" comfort curve. Bleachers shall be equipped with 5 ea .removable side rails 6 ea. permanent end rails. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-39. The Standard Industrial Classification is 5450.
