Construction includes upgrade and extension of base underground and
overhead infrastructure systems to include: electrical, roads, parking
lights, sidewalks, water, sanitary sewers, natural gas, storm
drainage, street lighting, landscaping, communications, and supporting
systems. Roadway improvements begin at the 6th Avenue entrance and
extend to Keystone Avenue. Drainage improvements necessitated by the
roadway improvement, electrical system conversion of overhead lines to
underground systems, communication duct installation, lighting
improvements at the major intersections, gas line construction, water
system improvements from 6th Avenue entrance extending to the south
Vail Drive and Aspen Drive intersection. Limited sanitary sewer
improvements and landscape along Aspen Drive. This project is listed
under SIC 1623. The project will have four bid additives that include
paving and three parts landscaping. The contractor shall provide all
labor, equipment, and materials required to perform the work in strict
accordance with the drawings and specifications. The approximate bid
opening date is 25 Apr 1997. The estimated construction period is 365
calendar days for an estimated contract completion date of 24 Apr 1998.
The estimated construction cost range is $1,000,000.00 to
$5,000,000.00. It is estimated a firm-fixed price contract will be
awarded as a result of this solicitation. Solicitations will be
available approximately 24 Feb 1997. The solicitation package will be
limited to one set per bidder and will be issued on a
first-come-first-serve-basis as the number of copies is limited.
Requests for bid documents must be in writing and be accompanied by a
non-refundable check for $162.00 for a specification copy with
full-size plans or $73.00 for a specification copy and half-size plans.
Make check payable to the U.S. Department of Treasury. Telephone
requests will not be accepted. The return address must be a street
address and not a Post Office Box. Copies of the solicitation will be
distributed to variousPlans Rooms throughout Colorado. The site visit
will be announced in a future notice. Place of performance is Buckley
ANG Base, Aurora, Colorado. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED, however,
woman-owned and Small Disadvantaged Business (SDBs) are encouraged to
apply. SDB concerns must provide evidence of being a socially and
economically disadvantaged business concern. Responses are requested by
7 Mar 1997. All replies must indicate the firm's size status such as
large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, or 8(a).
