70 -- WAD AUTHORIZING AND VALIDATION ENVIRONMENT SOL RFQ JM97-WAVE POC Jeff Marshall, USK-360 United Space Alliance, LLC (USA), a NASA prime contractor at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), FL, seeks sources capable of providing Windows NT Server-based text editor/documentation management system which will be integrated by USA into an existing application software system for the purpose of producing and publishing SGML based documents in a client-server environment. The formal solicitation will contain specific compatibility and tool set integration requirements as well as functional requirements. It is not anticipated that any single supplier's product line will satisfy both document management system and SGML text editor requirement; therefore, suppliers are encouraged to provide an integrated product set which meets all requirements through teaming agreements with other suppliers. The solicitation will require each offer to specify both a document management system and an SGML text editor as an integrated solution. It will also require that each offer identify the basis for procurement as either: (I) purchase from a single supplier, with all products from that supplier's own product line, (ii) purchase from a single supplier, with some products from the supplier's own product line and the balance from other suppliers' product lines that are included through re-seller agreements with the single supplier, or (iii) purchase from multiple suppliers who have teamed together to offer an integrated solution. The solicitation will not restrict a supplier from participating in only one offer or teaming arrangement. Teaming arrangements will be at the discretion of each offeror. The text editor/documentation management system product will be a part of a software application tool suite to be used by a minimum of 500 engineers (150 concurrent user sessions) to create, manage and deliver the work instruction content of technical procedures. The tool will enable authoring and management functions necessary to produce the technical documents. The system must be able to create, manage and maintain compound documents containing SGML tagged text, postscript based graphics, and bitmap image data in a client-server environment. The tool suite package must be able to work together in a seemless fashion with the ability to launch applications required to perform various authoring functions. The supplier is to provide a text editor and DMS package which will be evaluated both as a package and as individual tools. Other capabilities that are needed are work queue generation, task status, on line review and approval, document version/revision control and data report capabilities. This synopsis is for the sole purpose of identifying prospective sources and does not commit USA to make an award, nor to reimburse costs of submitting data. Indications of interest should be forwarded to reach USA no later than 020397 and should contain data, in duplicate, of company capabilities, experience in this or related fields, and such other data as may indicate a bona fide capability to perform the requirements set forth above. Address United Space Alliance, LLC, 1100 Lockheed Way, Titusville, FL 32780, Attn: Jeff Marshall, Mail Code USK-360. Questions may be submitted via FAX at (407) 867-7068. (0014)
