70 -- ECONOMETRIC FORECASTING SERVICES SOL SSA-RFQ-97-0001 DUE 012497 POC Cynthia Spencer Tel: (410) 965-3369 The Social Security Administration (SSA) plans to issue a REQUEST FOR QUOTATION (RFQ) for the purchase of the following Forecasting Services. These support services include detailed monthly forecasts and projections of the U.S. economy prepared with the aid of econometric models under varying sets of assumptions. The forecasting services consist of the following: 1) Econometric Models and Forecasts of the U.S. Economy based on a quarterly econometric model, must include labor force, employment, price, etc. 2) Three monthly forecasts with a forecast interval of min. 5 years. Trend projection and a projection cycle that must extend min. 20 years beyond present year. 3) Substantial narrative analysis accompanying the forecast measures. 4) Min. of one econometric model of the U.S. 5) Detailed total labor compensation and its components. 6) Availability of weekday routine user assistance. 7) Maximum three days per year contractor user-requested model solutions. 8) Forecasts must be accessible via dial-up from commercial telephone instruments for SSA offices in the DC-Balto Metro Area and operate at 1200 and 2400 baud. Service must be available from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturdays, EST, holidays not included. The RFQ is scheduled for release on or about January 24, 1997 and quotes will be required within 10 days thereafter. The anticipated award date is February 5, 1997.
