73 -- SCRAP METAL SERVICES SOL 1PI-R-0683-97 DUE 012897 POC Contract Specialist, STONEBERGER, LOUISE, 202-508-3945 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items/service prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 22.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; prposals are being requested and a written solicitation will be issued. UNICOR is requesting proposals for its SCRAP METAL SERVICES for a three (3) years period. Solicitation Number is 1PI-R-0683-97 and this solicitation is issued as a Request for Proposal (FP). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-42. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 7389 and small business size standard is $3.5 million. Each line item quantities are the estimated one year usage. Contract Line Item 0001 is STEEL SCRAP, miscellaneous mostly electroplated zinc steel and scrap from cold and hot rolld sheets (Inside). Estimated unit of issue is 15 short tons per year. Contract Line Item 0002 isTIN CANS, cans are the large institutional size used by the Food Industry. They have been flattened/compacted. Estimated unit of issue is 15,000 pounds per yea. Line Item 0003 is SCRAP, MISCELLANEOUS IRON (OUTSIDE). Estimated unit of issue is 970 Short Tons per year. Line Item 0003 is located at the Salvage Area. The purchaser must provide all manpower and equipment necessary for the loading and removal of Item 0003. For the containers, the successful bidder will be required to furnish large bins (30-Yard Bin, Inside dimensions are 22'1" X 7'6-1/4", Outside dimensins are 22'4" X 7'10-1/2", depth is 5'6"). to be placed in the Industry Area for Collection of Item 0001. Loading of Item 0002 will be accomplished by the purchaser using his equipment and manpower for removing and replacing the bins. Item 0003 will requirelarge bins (size stated above) to be furnished by the successful bidder. A separate bin will be required for Item 0002. This is a "ALL OR NONE" offer/contract. Offerors must bid on all three (3) line items offered. A contract will be awarded to the offeror who submits the lowest aggregate offer.
