0002 Sacramento Air Logistics Center intends to procure a Core Transfer
Device, to be used in the Casting Emmission Reduction Program (CERP).
This acquisition shall include design, manufacture, installation,
associated manuals, and warranty. It is the intent of the Government to
purchase a commercially available, free standing core transfer device
without the need for new development. Therefore, the contractor shall
demonstrate that they have at least five years experience in providing
and servicing core transfer devices for the foundry industry,
preferably for the automobile manufacturers. The contractor shall
provide proof of required qualifications in their solicitation
response. Equipment shall comply with 29 Code of Federal Regulations
1910 (OSHA). All electrical devices shall comply with NFPA 70-1993
National Electric Code andNFPA 79-1994 Electrical Standard for
Industrial Machinery, and ANSI B30 American National Standard Safety
Requirements for Cranes, Trolleys and Booms. This equipment shall be
designed to grip engine block cores weighing approximately 30 to 100
lbs and assist the operator in manually moving the cores from a core
rack to a core setting fixture. A gripping mechansim shall be included
with the equipment to grab and clamp the core. The approximate
issue/response date will be 30 Jan 97. The anticipated award date will
be 28 Feb 97. Written procedure will be used for this solicitation. No
telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly
from the requestor are acceptable. All responsible sources solicited
may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered.
Specifications, plans, or drawings relating to the procurement
described are incomplete or not available and cannot be furnished by
the Government. The drawings which will be furnished under this RFP and
any resultant contract are proprietary to George Fischer Foundry
Systems, Inc.__________. Firms interested in proposing on this RFP must
submit the following certificate signed by an individual authorized to
bind your company, or the bid package will not be furnished.
Certificate Regarding The Use Of Data Proprietary To George Fischer,
Inc.__________ The offeror hereby acknowledges that the data to be
furnished by the Air Force furnished by George Fischer, Inc.__________
in this solicitation and any resultant contract is proprietary to
George Fisher, Inc.__________ and contains the appropriate proprietary
legend. The offeror certifies that he will observe the following data
use restrictions: (1) The limited rights willbe strictly observed. (2)
The offeror shall be prohibited from reproducing in whole or in part
any drawing so restricted except as required to bid request or full
contract requirements. (3) The offeror is so prohibited from
incorporating any information and features of the drawings into other
documents or otherwise utilizing such information except for the
performance of the bid/contract. (4) All drawings or copies thereof
will be returned to the Government at the completion of the bid or
contract period. An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from
offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase
of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish
the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to
communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and
recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When
requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the
source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participatein the
evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Interested
