The United States Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific proposes to contract for the overhaul and repair of Escher-Wyss Propellers for Polar Class icebreakers for one year with four one year options. Contractors must possess valid Escher-Wyss license for performing repairs or demonstrate technical capability to perform the complex repairs required. Overhaul includes propeller disassembly, inspection, repair of propellers using submerged ARC welding, heat treatment of blades, non destructive testing, and machining of components to original tolerances. The base year is from April 28 1997 -- Sept 31, 1997. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Small Business Demonstration Program on or about 31 January 1997 with an estimated opening date of 3 March 1997.
