59 -- ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT COMPONENTS SOL N00024-97-R-6372 POC Janel Hradecky, (703) 602-0951, Contracting Officer, Mr. Steve Caracciolo, (703) 602-0951 The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a sole source solicitation to Alliant Techsystems, 6500 Harbour Heights Parkway, Mukilteo, Washington, 98275 under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). This procurement will acquire three (3) Forward Area Combined Degaussing and Acoustic Ranges (FACDAR) systems for the country of Egypt under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. FACDAR is a commercial-off-the-shelf/non-developmental item (COTS/NDI) which provides an advanced, easily transportable, and rapidly deployable system capable of measuring, recording, and processing ships' magnetic- and acoustic-radiated signatures in forward operational areas or as a fixed range. To date, Alliant Techsystems is the only known company which currently possesses the technical knowledge of the equipment required to satisfactorily perform the work under the contract contemplated herein in a timely manner.
