LOCAL GUARD SERVICE AT AMERICAN EMBASSIES The Department of State is continuing an automation project begun last year to make solicitations for overseas local guard service available on the Internet. The Department intends to issue as many solicitations as possible on its Acquisition Home Page, URL http://www.statebuy.inter.net/home.htm for guard services to be performed at American Embassies and Consulates overseas (under the heading "Business Opportunities"). Hard copies may not be issued. For firms without access to the Internet, the Department also maintains an electronic bulletin board system (BBS) managed by the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization. The BBS may be accessed via dial-up modem at 703-875-4945 for downloading solicitations. The Department plans to post overseas local guard solicitations to the BBS as well as the Internet. Both RFPs and amendments/Q&A's will be posted to the Internet and BBS in lieu of hard copies.
