A -- SCIENTIFIC, ENGINEERING, AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE INTERCEPTOR TECHNOLOGY DIRECTORATE SOL HQ0006-94-C-0002 POC Anne Terry, (703) 604-4459, CBD Reference Number: BMDO 97-09. The Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO) plans to award a sole source contract extension, reference number 97-09 to Analytic Services Inc. (ANSER) on or about May 15, 1997 to continue scientific, engineering, and technical assistance (SETA) support to the Interceptor Technology Directorate under contract HQ0006-94-C-0002 for a period of approximately 180 days. This is an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity, level of effort, cost-plus-fixed-fee, task order contract. The required support includes assisting the Government in planning and conducting technology investigation programs encompassing performing analyses, developing innovative concepts in the particular technologies, assisting in the planning and conduct of major experiments, performing data reductions and analyses of experiment results, and performing system engineering studies on ground and space-based interceptor systems. This continuation of services is required due to requirement changes in the statement of work (SOW) for the follow-on procurement entitled Scientific, Engineering and Technical Assistance for the Sensor and Interceptor Technology Directorate (solicitation HQ0006-97-R- 0002), which was synopsized as a full and open competitive acquisition under CBD announcement 97-08 on December 27, 1996. Award of the modification for continued performance under contract HQ0006-94-C-0002 will be made pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), only one responsible source, based on a determination that award to any other source would result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling BMDO requirements for scientific, engineering and technical assistance. BMDO intends to release a Request for Proposals (RFP) for solicitation HQ0006-97-R-0002 (competitive follow-on to contract HQ0006-94-C-0002) in the 2nd quarter of fiscal year 1997. The Government intends to post any future information related to this RFP on the BMDO Acquisition Reporting Bulletin Board (BARBB). A draft version of the SOW for solicitation HQ0006-97-R-0002 will be available on the BARBB in January 1997 for industry review and comment.
