19 -- STRATEGIC SEALIFT PROGRAM SOL N00024-97-R- 2204 POC Wade Wargo, NAVSEA 02225W, Contract Specialist, (703) 602-3102, Jerry Clement, NAVSEA 02225, Contracting Officer, (703) 602-3102 The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to procure two new construction Conventional Sealift Prepositioned/Surge (CSP/S-24) ships, data, technical manuals, crew orientation and familiarization, and up to 45 days at the Contractor's pier for the ship, as stated in the Circular of Requirements (COR) and Solicitation No. N00024-97-R-2204. The solicitation will be done under limited competition to National Steel and Shipbuilding Co. (NASSCO) in San Diego, CA and Avondale Industries, Inc. in New Orleans, LA under the authority of P.L. 104-106, Sec. 1013 and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). This procurement will either be awarded to one of the above-mentioned contractors for one Sealift ship and include two options, one for Long Lead Time Materials for the second ship and the other for the completion of the second ship, or for one ship each to both of the existing new construction Sealift contractors mentioned above. This procurement will complete the requirements for CSP/S-24 ships under the Strategic Sealift Program. (0002)
