Richardson, Code 02W1.6F at (202) 433-2893 The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Washington Detachment, Washington, DC (FISCNORVADETWASH) intends to modify contract N00600-96-C-2820 with Chant Engineering Co., Inc., for (1) one each, part number 8437 heavy duty cable grip to be compatible with Chant Model 8412-0001 Proof Test Machine; (1) one lot, grip liners and adapters 1/4" through 1 -- 3/4"; (1) one each easy open lid with gas spring assist; (1) one each integral mounting plate. The contract is for a hydraulic proof test machine and was awarded as a sole-offeror. The cable grip is designed exclusively by Chant Engineering Company. This modification is justified to enhance safety features of the machine. The proof test machine is currently under construction, expected delivery is for 29 March 1997. This is not a request for proposal. As this contract action will result in a contract modification, no solicitation will be issued. SEE Note 22.
