A -- OPERATION OF THE MISSILE DEFENSE DATA CENTER (MDDC) POC Deborah Teague, Contract Specialist, CSSD-CM-CN/Linda N. Bentley, Contracting Officer, CSSD-CM-CN/(205) 955-1187 The U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command is seeking to award a dedicated contract vehicle to operate the Missile Defense Data Center (MDDC). Following is a brief description of the requirement: The MDDC is one of three BMDO sponsored data sites which comprise the BMDO Scientific and Technical Information Center. The MDDC shall provide data management support to BMDO and Intelligence experiment programs by helping to plan, collect, organize, distribute, and archive complete data sets from assigned test programs. The MDDC is required to understand the technical details of the assigned experiments as well as the knowledge to ingest these data into the on-line system and provide it to users in a critical time limit. Numerous experiments will be performed continuously over the next four years that are assigned to use the MDDC. The MDDC shall work with other government organizations to develop a system of classified on-line data networks. Demonstration of these networks starts in FY97 and will develop into true on-line data access networks over the next three years. The MDDC shall participate as a beta test site for National Security Agency developed multi-level security software and hardware for a period of five years.
