circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 96.393. 1.

Edibles coatings on cheese. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s)
of the notified document: Explanatory Notes - Application A302 (4
pages). 6. Description of content: An application to amend the
Australian Food Standards Code to permit the use of glycerin, sorbic
acid and natamycin as components for edible coatings for cheese and
cheese products. 7. Objective and rationale: To facilitate trade. 8.
Relevant documents: Australian Food Standards Code, Standard H9 -
Cheese and Cheese Products. 9. Proposed date of adoption:
Recommendation to Government by 20 February 1997. Proposed date of
entry into force: To be decided. 10. Final date for comments: The
domestic closing date for comments is 27 November 1996. However,
comments from Members will be accepted until 18 December 1996 if notice
of intention to comment is received by the domestic closing date. 11.
