applicable): This Regulation shall apply to stationary maritime VHF
radiotelephones on board a ship, life boat or raft portable maritime
VHF radiotelephones as specified in the decision (KD 202/00/89) of the
National Board of Navigation or a regulation replacing it, portable
maritime VHF radiotelephones used on board a yacht and portable
maritime VHF radiotelephones used on board merchant and fishing
vessels. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified
document: Regulation on Type Approval Requirements for Maritime VHF
Radiotelephones (7 pages, available in English). 6. Description of
content: This draft Regulation is an up-dated version of TAC 14A/93 M.
Its scope covers four different groups of maritime VHF
radiotelephones. The purpose of the amendments done now was to update
the standard references. The Regulation contains a mutual recognition
clause for test reports from other countries. 7. Objective and
rationale: The aim of this Regulation is the efficient use of the radio
frequency spectrum and, in particular for the first two groups
mentioned in item 6, the safety of maritime transport. 8. Relevant
documents: This Regulation is included in the Series of Regulations
issued by the TAC. 9. Proposed date of adoption: Proposed date of entry
into force: To be determined. 10. Final date for comments: 13 January
