A -- LABORATORY-BASED ACOUSTIC TECHNIQUES STUDIES SOL N00014-97-R-RS02 DUE 021497 POC Richard D. Sewell, Contract Specialist, 601-688-5784. The Acoustics Division of the Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement for scientific and technical support related to laboratory-based acoustic techniques studies. General program areas include: (1) Upgrades and Improvements to Acoustic Laboratories and Programs; (2) Energy Flow in Shell Structures; (3) Integrated Sound and Vibration Sources and Pressure/Vibration Sensors; (4) Modeling; (5) Non-Contact Motion Measurement Techniques; (6) Active Control of Structural Acoustic and Structural Dynamic Phenomenon; (7) Software Development, Testing and Demonstration; (8) Analysis of Dome Deflection Behavior and Internal Structural Strain; (9) Measurement of Acoustic Material Properties; (10) Measurement of High Frequency Phonon Propagation; (11) Development of New Formalisms; (12) Volume Visualization Techniques; (13) Classification of Scattering Signatures; (14) Failure Dynamics Studies; (15) Investigation of Fiber Optic Sensor and Telemetry Technology; (16) Development of Multiple Fiber Strain Sensor Technologies; and (17) Performance of Engineering Efforts During Scuba Exercises. The anticipated period of performance will be for one basic year with four (4) option years. Prospective vendors should request, in writing, a copy of Solicitation Number N00014-97-R-RS02.
