The FAA William Hughes Technical Center has a requirement for two (2) Channel Interface Modules (CHIM) to be used on our current IBM System 360/370 Channel Interface (System 360 and 370 I/O Interface, Channel to Control Unit, Original Equipment Manufacturers Information (IBM Corp. #GA22-6974)). Salient characteristics of the CHIM include the capability to monitor ''control'' and ''data'' lines; capability to save collected data on media (tape, disk, etc.); capability of handling of disciplines up to and including 4.5 mb data streaming; trigger capability of rise and fall times of capture; external trigger capability (both in and out); at least two levels of event mark detection; glitch detection; monitor for display; capability of tracing and storing trace data to media at the same time; view trace data while system is collecting data; data editing capability; able to perform search function for specific occurrences; display traced/edited data (control and data) in time sequence; and display traced/edited data in text mode. These salient characteristics conform to the CHIM manufactured by Digital Systems Corporation, which was tested by the Display Systems Branch at this facility and have proven to be functionally comparable for the use required by the FAA.
