National Science Foundation (NSF) has a requirement to perform the
National Survey of Recent College Graduates (NRSCG). The NRSCG is a
biennial cross-sectional survey of individuals who recently received a
bachelor's or master's degree from a U.S. educational institution. The
NRSCG is part of the Scientist and Engineer Data System (SESTAT), a
system of data about the nation's science and engineering (S&E)
workforce. This requirement will include surveys of graduates to be
conducted in 1997 and 1999. The sample will include 13,500 graduates in
1997 and 13,500 graduates in 1999. Both surveys will also include a
longitudinal component (graduates followed over a series of surveys
rather than one point in time). This longitudinal component will
include 14,000 individuals in 1997 and 20,500 individuals in 1999. The
contractor shall be expected to perform a series of tasks which can be
grouped into the following major categories: (1) Staffing and planning
of survey activities and all project management plans; (2) Preliminary
survey activities that include clearance documentation and preparation
of survey materials; (3) Data collection; (4) Statistical procedures
(i.e. sampling, imputing, weighting); (5) Generation of survey results
(i.e. public use tapes, CD-ROM diskettes, computer-based and hard copy
tabulations); and (6) Research analysis activities and quality control
reports. RFP SRS-97004 is expected to be released on or about December
9, 1996, with a 30-day proposal submission period on a full and open
competition basis. Interested parties must submit a written request for
