Reference former Solicitation No. DEA-96-R-0008, the Drug Enforcement
Administration has a requirement for the acquisition of total aviation
support services to include program management, training support,
logistical support, aircraft maintenance support, and administrative
support necessary to sustain the DEA-owned aircraft fleet in a safe,
reliable, and fullly mission capable condition. From time-to-time the
contractor may also be required to perform work on other non-DEA
aircraft and during special operations. DEA's mission responsibilities
are worldwide. The DEA-owned aircraft are presently deployed and
supported from a main operating site located at the Alliance Airport
Facility, Fort Worth, Texas. Other field operating sites may be
established both domestically and foreign. The DEA assets include a
variety of military and commercial fixed and rotor wing, single and
multi-engine aircraft, piston, turbine and jet aircraft. Past
performance will be an evaluation factor. Specific security
requirements for contractor personnel must be met. The contemplated
contract is for a base period with four (4) twelve-month option
periods. After the base perioid, the government may exercise its rights
for the next option period, or any portion thereof. The solicitation
will be issued on or about December 5, 1996. The request for proposal
must be in writing and addressed to the Contracting Officer. Previous
requests for the previous number DEA-96-R-0008 will be maintained for
this solicitation; therefore, a second request need not be
re-submitted. A pre-site visit only is tentatively scheduled for
January 8, 1997. This date is subject to change; therefore, please note
the date specified in the solicitation to confirm this date. Attendees
are requested to re-submit a written request to the Contracting
Officer on facsimile (202) 307-7818 to include the name and title of
each representative that will attend the site visit. Attendees are
