Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for a
horizontal, machining center, computer numerically controlled,
pallet-type, with tool changer and rotary table. The machine will
perform machining operations to precision tolerances specified as well
as be used in a research program in high speed machining of aluminum
and titanium and high speed grinding of ceramic components. Detailed
specifications shall be issued with the solicitation.--1 each.--It is
anticipated that a firm fixed price contract will be awarded.--Delivery
is required 45 days after contract award.--Technical evaluation factors
are: (1) past performance of the equipment; (2) past performance of the
company; (3) and how contractor will meet or exceed the
