59 -- AVIATION OBSTRUCTION BEACONS SOL 1196-3373 POC POC Gary Hosford, Contracting Officer, FAX (202) 619-3267 The USIA International Broadcasting Bureau, Voice of America (VOA), has a requirement for twelve (12) white, medium-intensity, aviation obstruction beacons to be installed by VOA personnel on six (6) existing antenna towers at its transmitting station in Tinang, Philippines. The beacons to be provided shall: (a) be medium intensity, omni-directional, white strobe beacon fixture, type L-865, with acrylic Fresnel lens, 20,000 candela power by day and 2,000 candela power by night, and capable of 40 flashes per minute; (b) include all necessary power supply/controllers necessary for power interface; (c) have alarm functions to indicate beacon operation; (d) include all cables necessary for interconnection of the beacons to the power supply/controller; (e) include a spare beacon and power supply/controllers; and (f) be capable of operation from a site power supply of 120 volts, 60 Hz, single phase. Each beacon shall be fully compliant with ICAO Annex 14 and FAA part 77. The period of performance to furnish the above lighting systems shall be ninety (90) days after contract award. USIA intends to issue a Request For Quotation (RFQ) solicitation for this firm-fixed-price procurement in December 1996 with a contract award date in January 1997. Qualified manufacturers antenna tower lights may request a copy of the RFQ solicitation by submitting a written request to the USIA Contracting Officer at the above-listed address. Please reference Requisition No. 1196-3373 on all correspondence regarding this notice. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the Agency.
