Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), in cooperation with the San
Diego Chapter of the National Security Industrial Association (NSIA),
will hold a one-day unclassified conference for industry on 17 December
1996 at the San Diego Princess Resort. The purpose of this conference
is to inform industry of the changes occurring at SPAWAR and the
opportunities for future business. During the conference, RADM George
Wagner, Commander, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, will
describe his vision of the new SPAWAR organization taking shape now in
San Diego. RADM Osie Combs, SPAWAR's Chief Engineer, will discuss the
envisioned architecture of information systems for the 21st century
fleet. The major product line Program Directors will talk about the
products and services they expect to be acquiring to ensure that Navy
warfighters have the benefit of the latest information technology in
future conflicts. A panel discussion will allow meeting attendees to
ask questions and dialogue with all the speakers. A highlight of the
conference will be a luncheon address by Dr. Marv Langston, Deputy
Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Command Control, Communications,
Computers and Intelligence (C4I)/Space & Electronic Warfare Programs
(RD&A), who will discuss his views of where C4I is headed in the Navy.
