Postal Service (USPS) Customer Service, Marketing, requires the further
development of automated fill-in postage statements programmed in the
language JAVA. These statements will be made accessible from the Postal
Website free to the public, and are designed to help the customer
navagate the various parts of the form and provide all calculations
necessary for completion. A correctly completed postage statement
provides the customer with an accurate accounting and reduces the need
for the correction of computation errors. Other phases of this
development are an interview wizard that will guide customers through
an on-line forms application. In addition to this, there are plans for
HTML hot spots connecting to the Electronic Domestic Mail Manual and
data entry to the Permit System or other data receptical at the
Business Mail Entry Unit. The contractor shall have an understanding
and experience in the following hardware platforms: Intel-based
platforms, UNIX, and Macintosh; an understanding and experience in the
following software operating and network systems: Windows NT,
Windows-95, Windows 3.1, Netware UNIX, DOS, and TCP/IP networking
environment; and an understanding and experience in the following
computer software languages: JAVA and Hot JAVA. Solictations will be
