362-1176. USDA - Forest Service, Region 9, Huron-Manistee National
Forest, plans to award two contracts for various types of land survey
work under a one-year Indefinite Delivery Contract. Projects will
include retracement and subdivision of regular and fractional sections.
Selected contractors may be required to conduct corner search, corner
monumentation, marking and posting of the National Forest boundaries,
preparation and recordation of plats and corner records. Estimated
start date is February 20, 1997. Firms interested in this solicitation
should submit a SF-254 and SF-255. The following criteria will be used
in the evaluation of firms. 1). Professional qualifications for
satisfactory performance of required services including land surveyor
licensing for the State of Michigan by the project leader and
professional surveying qualifications of the survey team assigned to
the project. 2). Specialized experience and technical competence in the
type of work required: The professional surveyor (PS) shall demonstrate
a complete and thorough understanding of the technical and legal
approach needed to perform projects in woodland and rural-land areas.
3). Past performance: demonstrated satisfactory performance on
contracts with government agencies and/or the private sector in terms
of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance
schedules. 4). Capacity to perform the proposed work: the firm must
demonstrate that they possess a configuration of equipment and
personnel sufficient to the proposed work. 5). Geographic location: a
firm with significant cadastral survey experience in northern lower
Michigan or the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, will be considered
advantageous to the Government. In addition to the above, the firm must
submit two cadastral survey plats and Land Corner Recordation
Certificates. These documents shall demonstrate cadastral survey work
conducted and sealed by the PS designated as the proposed project
leader for this project. The anticipated expenditures under these
contracts will range from $10,000 to $50,000 for the fiscal year. Note
that this is an ``Emerging Small Business'' set-a-side. The size
