S -- WATER QUALITY - SAMPLING FOR 12 LAKES IN THE LITTLE ROCK DISTRICT. SOL DACW03-97-B-0010 DUE 010997 POC Patricia A. The contractor shall furnish all services, materials, supplies, labor, equipment, travel, and other elements as required in connection with the water quality monitoring as described in the scope of work. The overall goal of this contract is to collect and analyze water quality samples at designated sites on the 12 lakes in the Little Rock Corps of Engineers District. Three samples will be collected at all sites at specified times of the year as described within the scope of work. Each sample will be analyzed for the following standard parameters, however, some may be sampled for additional parameters. Phosphorus: Orthophosphate, Total phosphorus, Nitrogen: Ammonia, Nitrate, N02+N03, Miscellaneous: Chlorophyll-a,-b, Turbidity, BOD, Fecal Coliform, Hardness, alkalinity, Dissolved Calcium, Dissolved Magnesium, Dissolved Chloride, Dissolved Potassium, Dissolved Sodium, Dissolved Sulfate, Color, Aluminum, Arsenic, Chromium, Copper, Iron, Lead, Manganese, Mercury, Nickel and Zinc. All metals are tested for total metal. Minimum value for Orthophosphate will be .01, for D.O. will be 0.0 and for Total Phosphorus will be .01. Refer to tables for exact parameter testing at each site. Water quality samples will be collected and analyzed using the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) quality assurance/quality control standards as described in 40 CFR, part 136, dated June 30, 1986. The contractor must submit a copy of EPA's approval letter regarding collection, analysis, laboratory procedures and contractor's plan will be submitted to the contracting officer in the bid submittal. The sampling period will be for the specified times of the year as described within the scope of work with a report for each of the 12 lakes due after each sample. The report will include appropriate summaries of the water quality data, flow data, trend analyses and a 3.25-inch floppy diskette containing a database of all data collected. For the period 1 February 1997 or date of award, whichever is later, through 1 February 1998. Issue date for solicitation will be on or about 9 December 1996 at a cost of $5.00 for Specifications (charges are non-refundable). Solicitation documents will be made available upon written request to include check or money order payable to FAO, U. S. Army, LRD, and mailed to Contracting Division at the above address.
