This amends the CBD/Solicitation published on 10/23/96. Add the following to specification item (3): The codends shall be designed so that the 40mm mesh liner has a capacity of 15 tons. To reduce drag, an intermediate section with meshes larger than 40mm shall be sewn to the forward part of the codend. The codends shall be rigged with a lifting strap and lazy-line at the 15-ton mark where the 40mm mesh lining begins. The codends shall be rigged with a bleed-off zipper.'' Add the following to specification item (8): ''The spare parts kit shall include the appropriate tools (including net needles) required for repairing the nets''.
