V -- TRAVEL MANAGEMENT CENTER SERVICES SOL DTOS59-97-R-00002 POC Patricia Hanson, 202/366-4976 The Dept. of Transportation,(DOT) Acquisition Services plans to acquire travel management center services for Headquarters, to include Federal Aviation Administration, United States Coast Guard and other staff elements located in Washington, D.C. The envisioned contract will be a firm fixed price contract, with a base performance period of 24 months and three one year option periods. Some of the DOT requirements include: on-site reservation and ticketing service for both DOT official and leisure travel; a menu fee based structure; a variety of electronic reservation services available; and cost saving incentives. There will be a pre-solicitation briefing held November 22, 1996 in Room 2230, Nassif building, 400 7th St. SW, Washington, D.C. 20590 from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Offerors are limited to bring three (3) representatives. Pre-registration is required by calling Pat Hanson at (202) 366-4976. A hard copy of the draft solicitation is available by written request to the above address. The draft solicitation is also available electronically 24 hours a day via the Internet. The draft solicitation will be accessible via World Wide Web (WWW) Server of Gopher if you are directly connected to the Internet. The DOT WWW server can be reached at ''http://www.dot.gov//''. Please read the READ-ME-FIRST file for specific instructions for downloading documents. It is anticipated that a draft version of the solicitation will be available for comment Oct. 31, 1996. Comments will be accepted up to two (2) weeks after that date and may be sent via E-mail to Patricia_Hanson@postmaster2.dot.gov or in writing to the above point of contact. The anticipated release date of the formal solicitation is approximately January 15, 1997. Note that these dates are subject to change and it is the responsibility of the interested parties to periodically check the solicitation status either through logging on to the Gopher or by calling the above point of contact.
