McGrath (757) 433-2621 This project provides replacement of aircraft hot refuelers and the construction of a jet fuel storage tank. Two specifications are combined as follows. Jet Fuel Storage Tank (P-125): The project consists of the construction of one 800,000 liter, field erected, cut and cover fuel storage tank with steel shell, and cast-in-place concrete containment slab, walls and roof. The project provides for receipt of fuel from the existing Aviation Fuel System and transfer to the existing system with a new fuel pump house consisting of four 100-horsepower vertical turbine pumps. The project also provides incidental features for access and operation of the fueling system. Replace Aircraft Hot Refuelers: The work includes replacement of aircraft hot refuelers, supply and return piping to Lanes 7 through 10, addition of truck fueling stations, pump controls and addition of filter separators and fuel monitors and incidental work at the Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is a request for proposals (RFP) and requires the submission of technical and price proposals. Price and technical are of equal value. The technical criteria consists of (1) Corporate Experience and Resources (2) Project Management and (3) Support of Small Businesses in performance of the contract. The approximate date Plans and Specifications will be available is 18 November 1996. The Bid Opening Date is 18 December 1996. A limited number of bid packages will be available and issued on a first come first serve basis. There is a charge of $25.00 for each additional set of plans and specifications. No charge will be made for the first set of specifications available to each requestor. Estimated cost range is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. This project is not set aside for small business concerns. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered.
