HIGGINBOTHAM (205) 235-7323 (Site Code DAAC01) Contractor shall be
responsible for furnishing all plant, labor, materials, equipment and
a portable cellular telephone for the Site Superintendent, and
performing all work in strict accordance with specifications,
schedules, and drawings forming parts thereof for repair of railroads.
In general, work shall consist of repairs to railroads, including but
not limited to, installation of Government furnished relay material
consisting of 90# rail, joint bars and tie plates. Approximately 2,991
T.F., two 90# guard rails, and one 90# No. 8 relay turnout; remove
deteriorated crossties and turnout ties, and replace with contractor
furnished new crossties and turnout ties; furnish/install bond wires
and ground rods; clean, lubricate and adjust all switches where they
are relocated, surfaced or have new sets of switch ties installed, or
are scheduled for lube and adjustments; surfacing, tamping, lining
track and turnouts, and applying new ballast; install contractor
furnished new A.R.E.A. No. 8 turnouts with 115# R.E. rail per A. R. E.
A. Plan No. 8-71, sheet 1 & 3 complete with accessories and A.R.E.A.
Plan 8-62 sheet 2 & 4; remove existing rail, otm, and laying contractor
furnished new 115# rail complete with new accessories; remove, repair,
and replace road crossings; respace existing and new ties where new
rail is laid, and in selected 90# Ra rail areas; install new compromise
joint bars; anchor spiking curves, one additional spike per plate;
install new rail anchors; replace bolts with new and tighten;
repair/replace switches; crop and weld joints in rail crossings;
weld/build-up rail ends, switch joints, frogs; remove existing
turnouts; and clean road crossing flangeways. Forty (40) percent of
work is in the Ammunition Limited Area, construction vehicles only, no
automobiles. All work is to be performed in strict accordance with
technical provisions and drawings. Estimated magnitude of project is
between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. One Job. To be performed at
Anniston Army Depot, Anniston, Alabama 36201. Completion time to be
within 240 calendar days after date of notice to proceed. All
responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered.
