R -- COMPUTER AIDED COMBAT SYSTEM TRAINING COURSES SOL N00024-97-R-5174 DUE 121296 POC CONTACT MARY KEYSER, SEA 0251K, 703-602-8105/518; CONTRACTING OFFICER, LINDA MCCARTHY, SEA 02511, 703-602-8105/513 The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a sole source modification to an existing contract with Lockheed Martin, Government Electronic Systems, 199 Borton Landing Road, Moorestown, NJ 08057, for 19 Interactive Courseware Lessons for the Japanese Computer Aided Weapon System Training Courses. The award will be for the contractor to provide FMS Training Support for the DDG 2316 AEGIS Combat System by development of 19 Interactive Courseware lessons to support courses currently being taught to the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force student training at the Japanese Missile Training Center (MTC). The developed courses shall complement the existing AEGIS classroom and laboratory training already being provided. Delivery is FOB Japan eighteen (18) months after date of award. A written proposal is being sought with an anticipated award date of 31 MAR 97. Lockheed Martin is currently the sole producer of the AEGIS Weapon System and integrator of the AEGIS Combat System. No other contractor has the technical expertise or resources to fulfill the requirements of this acquisition in the required delivery time frame. See Notes 22 and 26. (0304)
