commercial items prepared in accordance with the format at FAR Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals
are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
Solicitation DAAB07-97-R-0001 is issue as a request for proposals; the
solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are
those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 90-37. This
is an unrestricted acquisition; proposals from all responsible sources
will be considered. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code
for this acquisition is 5045; the small business size standard is 100
employees. Contract line items are as follows: 0001 Tactical Line
Printer 12 ea. 0001AA Rack Mount Adapter 8 ea. 0001AB Static Paper
Take-ups 8 ea. 0001AC Spare Modules Kit 2 ea. The following are
requirements that must be met for the requested printers: The line
printer will go in the AN/TYC-39A Message Switching Center (NSN
5805-01-363-5118). The switching system process can not be modified for
cable or interface. Data output rate can not be less than 300 lines per
minute and have an 80 column per line capability. Printer must be
compatible for either Bubble Jet, Laser, Impact or Thermal printing due
to security. The printer must be able to operate on +28 volts DC input
power and 115/230 VAC. Printer must operate seven character ASCII
code. Printer enclosure assembly must provide a sealed, shocked
insulated environment for the mechanical print assembly. Printer should
fit in a 19 inch relay rack for transport equipped with slides for
drawer mount. The printer should have data and power connectors that
are directly connectable to existing cables in the AN/TYC-39A. Printer
must be able to be carried by one man or weight less than 50 lbs.
Printer must by capable of operating in a rugged tactical environment.
Printer must be shock and vibration resistant due to transportation in
off road conditions. Printer must be able to operate in cold climate
(-10C) and in a hot climate (50C). All items delivered under any
resulting contract shall be shipped, FOB Destination, no later than 180
days after receipt of order to: Commander, 11th Signal Brigade, ATTN:
ASQG-RM, Bldg 52120, Fort Huachuca, Arizona 85613-5600. The point of

Deliveries will be accepted 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through
Friday, except Federal holidays. The provisions at FAR 52.212-1,
Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items (Oct 1995), applies to this
acquisition. The addendum to this provision may be downloaded from the
Electronic Bulletin Board System (EBBS). The provision at FAR
52.212-2, Evaluation - Commercial Items (Oct 1995), applies to this
acquisition; offers will be evaluated on (1) Technical capability of
the items offered to meet the Governments requirements; (2) The
offerors past performance in the areas of reliability, delivery
schedule, and warranty; and (3) Price. Offerors shall include a
completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror
Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items (Oct 1995), and
the provision at DFARS 252.212-7000, Offeror Representations and
Certifications - Commercial Items (Nov 1995), with each offer. The
clause at FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial
Items (Oct 1995), applies to this acquisition. The clause FAR 52.212-5,
Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or
Executive Orders - Commercial Items (Jan 1996), applies to this
acquisition, as does the clause at DFARS 252.212-7001, Contract Terms
and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders -

A free Windows COM program is on the Internet home page and can be
downloaded. Instructions are as follows: Modem parameters: Data Rate =
1200 bps to 28800 bps (Hayes optima 28.8 V.FC Modems are used); Parity
= No or None; Data bits = 8; Stop bit = 1. Login as a new user. Users
will create their own login ID and password and use the same login and
password each time they access the EBB). There is a 24 hour wait the
first time a user logs in before he is approved to download files.
