(702) 295-7606. Bechtel Nevada Corporation (BNC), the M&O Contractor
for DOE at the Nevada Test Site (NTS) is seeking interested firms
normally engaged in the manufacture of nuclear materials containment
systems. BNC intends to procure a complete containment system through
a direct subcontract. The containment system is to be used by onsite
BNC personnel in the Waste Examination Facility (WEF) to safely breach
existing Transuranic waste drums, characterize the waste, and
repackage it for shipment to final disposal. The containment system
consists of a modular panel containment structure, glove box, utility
systems including HEPA, fire protection/detection systems and
instrumentation, and related subsystems and components. The scope of
work under under the procurement includes design and fabrication of the
containment system, glove box in the venders plant(s), shipment to the
NTS, and oversight of BNC onsite personnel for installation in the
WEF. Start-up and check out of the completed containment system. A RFP
is expected to be issued by November 20, 1996. The subcontract
performance period is scheduled for 120 calendar days with award
anticipated by January 6, 1997. A follow-on maintenance agreement
